Who am I?

My name is Catherine, but my family and my friends call me Cath.
Since my childhood, I draw, paint, create, and always loved making beautiful things with my hands. When I was a child, I spent my time in the family gun store wrapping gifts, obviously empty, just for the pleasure of creating new models by playing with ribbons and wrapping paper.

As a teenager, I went to drawing and painting lessons at the "Académie des Beaux-Arts de Binche", and  was enrolled in a Art option in High school at  the "Athénée Provinciale de La Louvière". I learned how to paint with oil painting in an extracurricular painting club, but I quickly realized that that technique was not the best fit for me, because I needed something allowing me to be more spontaneous and free.

I mastered the History of Art (Contemporary Art orientation) at the "Université Libre de Bruxelles", and completed it by a licence for teaching in high school, and a diploma of specialized studies in cultural management. After having worked as a tour guide, and in different cultural institutions, I started a career in the field of event organization, first at the city of Montigny-le-Tilleul, an afterwards for 10 years at the city of Le Roeulx.

In July 2021, we moved with my two daughters and my husband for three years to Utah. It is a great opportunity to discover the American culture and its wonderful cities and landscapes that are so different from our small Belgium. In this new country, I decided to take advantage of my time to do what I like the most. And that's why I created this Website.

My credos are rather colors and light. I learned to draw, but I really find my pleasure in the expression and vibrations of colors. I love their energy and their dialogue with the light. I also like the freedom of the gesture, and the fantasy that art allows compared to the reality surrounding us. Everything is allowed!

I love my family, and my life as it is now. And as you can see below, I also love my kitties who are always willing to hug, and are always enjoying the best in their surroundings.

Some sentences that I really like are:

It is sometimes a long learning process to know how to finally join the life that suits us
"C'est un long apprentissage parfois que de savoir rejoindre enfin la vie qui nous va." (Olivier Adam)

To be yourself is to be excluded by some people. To be like others is to exclude yourself.
"Etre soi-même, c'est se faire exclure par certaines personnes. Etre comme les autres, c'est s'exclure soi-même." (Jean Céré)

In the middle of winter, I discovered in me an invincible summer
"Au milieu de l'hiver, j'ai découvert en moi un invincible été." (Albert Camus)

When you can't go back, you only have to worry about how best to move forward.
"Quand on ne peut revenir en arrière, on ne doit se préoccuper que de la meilleure façon d'aller de l'avant." (Paulo Coelho)
